The province of Hormozgan is located in the south of Iran which has 900 Kilometers border with the Persian Gulf and the gulf of Oman. It includes many great cities and islands such as Kish, Qeshm, Hormoz, Hengam and etc.. Bandar Abbas is a port and the provincial capital of Hormozgan with the population of 606,633 in 2020. Fish market, Hindu temple, Genoo Mountains and the recreational resorts of the sea shores are considered as the man tourist attractions of this city.
The economic income of Bandar Abbas is mainly out of agricultural productions (citrus fruits, date and etc.), petroleum products and sea foods.
The earliest record of Bandar Abbas dates back to the reign of Darius the Great (between 522 and 486 BCE). Bandar Abbas (means “Port of Abbas”) was established in 1623 by Shah Abbas I, as a substitution for the city of Hormuz, which had been occupied by the Portuguese about 1514.
